Pavement falls (offline)

We are all familiar with pot holes in roads, but have you looked at the state of the pavements around Doncaster?

A lot of pavements are very uneven causing trip hazards.

Some of the problems are:-

  • Uneven or broken pavement slabs
  • Tree root damage
  • Raised iron works
  • Pot holes in pavements

A fall on a pavement can end in broken bones or even head injury.

In 2025 Doncaster council paid out £460,000 in compensation.

However a most claims fail due to lack of evidence and a lot more falls go unreported.

Some people are scared to go out after falls.

Bad pavements can make it difficult for disabled people.

When the NHS are encouraging us to walk more. Shouldn’t we be making it safe to walk?

Not only roads need to be fixed but pavements need fixing as well.
